its deep intersection with art therapy and social advocacy. As a certified art therapy coach, Boukhemoucha explores how the medium of film can serve as a tool for healing and social integration. This research-driven approach informs his creative work, where he often focuses on childhood and marginalized segments of society, using an intimate and sensitive lens to address complex human experiences.
Boukhemoucha’s filmography is characterized by a blend of experimental fiction and documentary, often prioritizing silence and expressive imagery over traditional dialogue. His earlier short films, such as Two Lions (2016) and Hot Meal (2013), established his reputation for capturing reality with profound empathy.
Beyond the camera, he is a prolific cultural critic and author, contributing numerous academic articles in Arabic and French to international journals. Through his writing and media appearances, he advocates for the transformative power of the arts, specifically discussing how theater and cinema influence societal memory and cultural identity. His work continues to bridge the gap between technical filmmaking and humanitarian outreach in North Africa.
